Brendan Gleeson joins ‘Joker’ sequel cast

Irish theatre and film actor Brendan Gleeson will take part in filming the second part of the film “Joker”, reports Deadline portal on September 1.

Brendan Gleeson will join Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Joker Sequel. Todd Phillips will direct and write the script for the new film, which will be written jointly with Oscar-nominated Scott Silver.

According to the portal, the sequel will take place in Arkham Asylum, where the first film ends after Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) was sent there. Who exactly Gleason will play in the sequel is not specified.

Earlier, on August 12, it was reported that the American singer and actress Lady Gaga will receive $ 10 million for the role of Harley Quinn in the film “Joker: Madness for Two.” According to the publication, Joker star Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips will receive $20 million each. The sequel will cost Warner Bros. to produce the sequel at $150 million .

The sequel to Todd Phillips’ Joker will hit theatres on October 4, 2024. Filming is scheduled to begin in December.

The second part of the “Joker” is called “Madness for two”, which refers to the medical term “general psychosis” when a person’s delusions or hallucinations are transmitted to another or two at once.

Earlier, on June 7, Phillips published on his Instagram the title page of the script, co-written with Scott Silver, with whom he wrote the story for the first part.
